Dumb and Dumber

Seeing the picture, you would think that maybe Dodd and Frank have been up to a little hanky panky. Well they have, only it is you and me that are trying to get our pants pulled back up after another all-nighter by the jerks in Washington.

It seems everything that Congress as well as the President and every committee and bureaucracy in Washington is on a fast track to change, replace or destroy everything about this nation as it traditionally has been.

Right now, we have the House of Representatives and the Senate leaders finalizing details of their sweeping financial overhaul regulation bill. Once again, it is almost along party lines but as always, we can be sure to count on just enough Republicans to help push it through.

Does everyone remember their new poster child of “The Republican Take Back” last year? Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass) was one of only four Republicans to vote for an earlier version of the financial regulation bill in the Senate last month. As always, a RINO saves Obama’s day.

“What’s in a name? That which we call a RINO,
By any other name would smell as rotten.”

Culminating with a dawn compromise which set up a potential vote in both houses of Congress next week, lawmakers pulled another all-nighter. They wrapped up their work at 5:39 a.m., more than 20 hours after they began Thursday morning. That will allow them to send the landmark legislation to President Obama by July 4.

Two thousand years ago, a group of evil, untrustworthy, reprobate officials did their evil deeds during the cover of darkness. Hiding their light under the cloak of darkness seems to be the way of choice for those that steal liberty and freedom from others.

“It’s a great moment. I’m proud to have been here,” said Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.), the crocodile teary-eyed idiot, who as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee led the effort in the Senate. “No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. But we believe we’ve done something that has been needed for a long time. It took a crisis to bring us to the point where we could actually get this job done.”

It will create new consumer protection bureau within the Federal Reserve which will have independent funding, an independent leader and total autonomy to write and enforce rules. The government will have broad new powers, when “IT” decides, to seize and wind down large, failing financial firms and to oversee the $600-trillion derivatives market. In addition, the Treasury secretary will monitor the financial landscape for potential systemic risks.

“What’s in a name? That which we call a Pharisee,
By any other name would smell like a Pharisee.”

Quote, “Lawmakers”, unquote, also voted to place new restrictions on mortgage lending and to levy a “risk-based” assessment on large financial firms to help pay for the wide-ranging bill, which the Congressional Budget Office has estimated will cost at least $20 billion over the next decade.

On the House side, the final tally was 20 to 11 to approve the conference committee’s report. On the Senate side, it was 7 to 5. The votes fell along party lines.

Both Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-Conn.) and Rep. Barnett (Barney) Frank (D-Mass.) said they hoped the passage of the legislation by their committees will help the United States lead the ongoing global effort to harmonize new financial safeguards.

“We’ve put in the hands of the president a very powerful set of tools for him to reassert American leadership in the world,” Frank said.

One of the last motions Friday morning was to name the bill after the two chairmen. At 5:07 a.m., they agreed that it would be known as the Dodd-Frank bill. Ain’t dat special?

Does this country really need more controls and oversight by reprobates like Frank? Does it require more of this Republic’s freedoms to be done away with by special interest hacks like Dodd? What are we going to do to stop these people?

If voters in the New England States, the Great Lakes Rust Belt and the West Coast keep electing these types of Congressmen, there will never be hope for this nation to survive. At some point it may become necessary to rethink the rest of the nation’s relationship to these other areas.

It seems that these are the ones that get control of the committees and bring this type of heavy handed socialism to bear on the remaining peoples of this great Republic. We truly do need “Change” we can believe in and we need it now
