Most conservative libertarian leaning Americans will usually let sleeping dogs lie. But occasionally, said dogs need to be reminded that our silence and tolerance are not in any fashion an endorsement or an acceptance.
Any of you out there that remember the old Looney Tunes cartoons might remember my personal favorite, Fog Horn Leghorn. He was the big Rooster that spoke in a heavy Southern drawl. “Aw say Lookit here son, I say son, listen to me when I’ma talking to ya boy.”
If you remember him, he used to put the old hound dog in his place all of the time. He would normally sneak out to the dog’s house with the dog sleeping in it. He would grab the Barnyard Dawg by his tail, lift him off the ground and beat the dogs butt with a paddle or stick.
Now, me being the dog lover that I am, I never condone whooping a favorite canine friend in such a manner, but it worked wonders for the big chicken didn’t it?
People such as ourselves get tired of being taken advantage of, being kicked around by those that we have supported, being called terrorists and especially bigots.
We want everyone for the most part to just go live their damn life the way they want to and to leave us to do the same damn thing. Live and let live. That goes for minority and for the gay lifestyle living persons out there.
Now I am not equating the struggles of homosexuality to the same plight encountered historically by African-Americans and Native-Americans. I will let them do that for themselves if they want to. But you and I don’t have to accept that do we.
We have a tendency to let those sleeping dogs of social and societal grievances to themselves if possible. As long as you keep that to yourself and don’t try and force it down our throats, we will let you live any way you want to.
But, it is time for the Fog Horn approach. The dogs aren’t sleeping anymore and neither are we. Whether its gay rights, illegal aliens coming into country ILLEGALLY or the Mosque these idiots are trying to put on Ground Zero. (SIDEBAR-If the landing gear of one of the jets used in the attack on 911 was found in a building, isn’t that building part of the sight? I’m just saying!)
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is expected to begin floor debate on a defense authorization bill that would repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and allow homosexuals to serve openly in the armed forces. Last month, Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the Army’s deputy chief of staff offered a glimpse of how the military might look should the new policy take effect: Those serving who oppose the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender agenda are no longer welcome.
Those were the views of Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the Army’s deputy chief of staff in charge of personnel matters who spoke about “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” before several hundred troops at the European Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. “Unfortunately, we have a minority of service members who are still racists and bigoted and you will never be able to get rid of all of them,” Lt. Gen. Bostick said. “But these people opposing this new policy will need to get with the program, and if they can’t, they need to get out. No matter how much training and education of those in opposition, you’re always going to have those that oppose this on moral and religious grounds just like you still have racists today.”
So you are a bigot. I am a bigot. Anyone that doesn’t think that the homosexual lifestyle is great is a bigot. Funny, I don’t feel like a bigot. “You’re built too low! The fast ones go over your head.”
I think this idiot Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick is a friggin bigot. He and everyone like him that try’s to force you and me to accept his love of the gay lifestyle are the bigots. They hate us because we prefer to have Judeo-Christian based moral lifestyles. And for that, they hate us.
Lt. Gen. Bostick suggested he would employ the same strict disciplinary standards of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which also criminalizes adulterous conduct among heterosexuals to provide “education and training” that would ensure soldiers, sailors and airmen embrace the new LGBT agenda.
So will our sons and daughters serving in the military now lose their rights, not to be required to sleep and shower around others that find them sexually attractive? How will that affect their moral? How will that make them better Soldiers, Airman, Sailors and Marines? How will this go over in Muslim country’s where it is a capital crime to be gay?
It’s unseemly for a senior officer to equate those who hold traditional values with racists and bigots. Lt. Gen. Bostick’s careless words demonstrate his unsuitability to the task, and, for that reason, he should withdraw from further involvement in the Pentagon panel set to issue a report on the new policy by Dec. 1. He should go even further and offer his resignation because of his bigoted attitude against those that don’t hold his love for the gay life style that he does.
“What’s goin’, I say, what’s goin’ on here?! Don’t stand there with your beak open! Say somethin’! Explain yourself! Your tongue’s flappin’, but no noise is comin’ out of your big mouth! Now get out and stay out!”
The Senate also should reject this attempt to undermine the effectiveness, morale and morals of the military on the behalf of a radical fringe.
Hey Foghorn, time for the big stick across someone’s bottom. Well, that’s all folks!
